When did you join the CCI?
The Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation joined the Caribbean Challenge Initiative in 2013.
Why did your company/organization join the CCI?
We did so because we are concerned about the quality of the marine environments in the Caribbean. We seek to promote scientific research necessary for the development of smart and sustainable fisheries management across the Caribbean. And we seek to advocate for marine science education so future generations in the Caribbean will be strong stewards of these valuable natural resources.
How is the CCI important to marine and coastal conservation in the Caribbean?
The marine environment is critical to the Caribbean's long-term social and economic base. As such, these resources must be conserved with a regional, managed approach, and the CCI offers just that.
What are your company's main conservation priority actions under the CCI?
The Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation advocates for sustainable fisheries. In the CCI realm, we also strongly support marine science research necessary to develop the proper, and generate support for, conservation measures.
Why is conservation important to your company/organization? How does conservation benefit you?
It benefits us as it promotes healthy ecological balances in our oceans and coastal environments.
